1. Purpose and Origin of the Report Te Pūtake Pūrongo
1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide the Road Closure Subcommittee with information to enable the Subcommittee to decide on the application for proposed road closures for the Navy Charter Parade. The proposed closures are to enable a separated safe space for the parade to occur that allows for physical separation between those attending and regular traffic.
1.2 This report has been written because Qualis have proposed to close the following roads from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday, 22 February 2025:
· Huanui Lane from Worcester Street to Gloucester Street
· Latimer Square West from Gloucester Street to Hereford Street
· Worcester Street from Manchester Street to Latimer Square West
2. Officer Recommendations Ngā Tūtohu
That the Road Closure Subcommittee:
1. Receives the information in the Proposed Temporary Road Closure for Navy Charter Parade Report.
2. Authorises the approval of the temporary road closures for the Navy Charter Parade, proposed to be deployed from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday, 22 February 2025:
a. Huanui Lane from Worcester Street to Gloucester Street
b. Latimer Square West from Gloucester Street to Hereford Street
c. Worcester Street from Manchester Street to Latimer Square West.
3. Background/Context Te Horopaki
3.1 The event organisers have indicated that they have undertaken direct notifications to impacted parties, which is required as part of the road closure application process. The event organisers will provide a record of any feedback received, from impacted parties to the Subcommittee in advance of the scheduled meeting or the organisers may present the information in person to the Subcommittee.
3.2 Public notification was carried out through publication in The Press and on the Council website. The period allowing for objections to be received meets the minimum required of one week. The application was publicly advertised in The Press on 16 January 2025 with objections closing 25 January 2025.
3.3 At the time of writing this report, there were no objections received by Council, as a result of the public notifications process.
3.4 Road closures for this event have not previously been approved by the Road Closure Subcommittee at this location.
3.5 Staff support the proposed temporary road closures and believe that it will not unreasonably impact traffic.

1. Purpose and Origin of the Report Te Pūtake Pūrongo
1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide the Road Closure Subcommittee with information to enable the Subcommittee to decide on the application for proposed road closures for the Events at Apollo Projects stadium. The proposed closures have been designed to provide a separated space for event attendees to access and egress the stadium without interacting with regular traffic.
1.2 This report has been written because Venues Otautahi have proposed to close Jack Hinton Drive from Twigger Street to Whiteleigh Avenue and Twigger Street from Lincoln Road to Jack Hinton Drive on the dates and times listed below:
· From 6pm to 10pm Friday, 14 February 2025
· From 1:30pm to 7pm Sunday, 9 March 2025
· From 2:30pm to 8pm Saturday, 15 March 2025
· From 6pm to 10pm Saturday, 29 March 2025
· From 6pm to 10pm Friday, 18 April 2025
· From 6pm to 10pm Saturday, 10 May 2025
· From 6pm to 10pm Friday, 23 May 2025
