1. Brief Summary He Whakarāpopototanga Poto
1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide the Subcommittee with information to enable it to make a decision regarding the application for proposed road closure for a promotional display event. The proposal to close the road has been put forward to enable a safe event that eliminates interactions between vehicles and those wishing to attend the event. The event is proposed to be held the on roadway directly in front of the normal business premises of BBQs Direct in Stanley Street, Sydenham.
1.2 This report has been written because BBQs Direct have proposed to close the following road from 7am to 5pm on Sunday 19 November 2023:
· Stanley Street From #30 to #345 Colombo Street
1.3 The event organisers have indicated that they have undertaken direct notifications to impacted parties, which is required as part of the road closure application process. The event organisers will provide a record of any feedback received, from impacted parties, to the Subcommittee in advance of the scheduled meeting or alternatively the organisers may present the information in person to the Subcommittee.
1.3.1 The letter drop undertaken to impacted parties and the extent of the letter drop area have been attached to this report.
1.4 Public notification was carried out through publication in The Press and on the Council website. The period of time allowing for objections to be received meeting the minimum required time period of one week. The application was publicly advertised in The Press on 10 October 2023 with objections closing 17 October 2023.
1.5 There were no objections received by Council, as a result of the public notifications process.
1.6 This is a new event that the Road Closure Subcommittee has not previously considered.
1.7 Staff support the proposed temporary road closures and believe that it will not unreasonably impact traffic.

1. Brief Summary He Whakarāpopototanga Poto
1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide the Subcommittee with information to enable it to make a decision regarding the application for proposed road closures for Christmas in the Park 2023. The proposal to close the roads adjacent to Hagley Park has been put forward to eliminate interactions between vehicles and the large number of expected attendees to enable a safe event for those that wishing to attend the Christmas in the Park 2023 event.
1.2 This report has been written because Best Events have proposed to close the following roads on Saturday 25 November 2023 with a rain date of Sunday 26 November 2023:
· Park Terrace from Bealey Avenue to Dorset Street – From 5pm to 11:30pm
· Armagh Street from Cranmer Square to Park Terrace - From 9 pm to 11:30pm
· Park Terrace from Kilmore Street Armagh Street - From 9 pm to 11:30pm
· Rolleston Avenue from Armagh Street to Gloucester Street - From 9 pm to 11:30pm

1.6 Road closures for this event have previously been approved by the Road Closure Subcommittee at this location. The proposed closures are a minor increase from those previously approved due to the desire to reduce unwanted traffic movements occurring at the closing of the event on Park Terrace between Kilmore Street and Chester Street. Previous closures of Park Terrace near Armagh Street were between Chester Street West and Armagh Street, the proposed closures now extend North to Kilmore Street from Armagh Street.
1.7 Staff support the proposed temporary road closures and believe that it will not unreasonably impact traffic.

1. Receive the information in the Report.
2. Authorise the approval of the temporary road closures for the Christmas in the Park 2023 event, proposed to be deployed on Saturday 25 November or alternatively on Sunday 26 November 2023 as a weather backup day:

1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide the Subcommittee with information to enable it to make a decision regarding the application for proposed road closures for the Freestyle Kings Event at Apollo Projects Stadium. The proposal to close the roads adjacent to Apollo Projects Stadium has been put forward to eliminate interactions between vehicles and the large number of expected attendees to enable a safe event for those wishing to attend the Freestyle Kings Event.
1.2 This report has been written because Venues Otautahi have proposed to close the following roads on from 4pm to 11pm Saturday, 2 December 2023:
· Jack Hinton drive from Whiteleigh Avenue to Twigger Street
· Twigger Street from Jack Hinton Drive to Lincoln Road
1.3 The event organisers have indicated that they have undertaken direct notifications to impacted parties, which is required as part of the road closure application process. The event organisers will provide a record of any feedback received, from impacted parties, to the Subcommittee in advance of the scheduled meeting or alternatively the organisers may present the information in person to the Subcommittee.

The proposal to close roads has been put forward to enable a safe event that eliminates interactions between vehicles and those wishing to attend the Christmas Parade event.
1.2 This report has been written because New Brighton Project have proposed to close the following roads from 9am to 12pm on Saturday 9 December 2023:
· Marine Parade from Lonsdale Street to Hood Street.
· Hawke Street from Marine Parade to Shaw Avenue.
· Shaw Avenue from Hawke Street to Seaview Road.
· Seaview road from Union Street to Shaw Avenue
· Brighton Mall from Union Street to Marine Parade.
· Beresford Street from Oram Avenue to Marine Parade
1.3 The event organisers have indicated that they have undertaken direct notifications to impacted parties, which is required as part of the road closure application process. The event organisers will provide a record of any feedback received, from impacted parties, to the Subcommittee in advance of the scheduled meeting or alternatively the organisers may present the information in person to the Subcommittee.
