That the Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board:

1.         Receives the information in the Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Discretionary Response Fund 2024/25 - South Hornby School Report.

2.         Notes that the decisions in this report are assessed as low significance based on the Christchurch City Council’s Significance and Engagement Policy.

3.         Approves a grant of $5,000 from its 2024/25 Discretionary Response Fund to South Hornby School towards Shade and Privacy Umbrellas.

2.         Notes that the decisions in this report are assessed as low significance based on the Christchurch City Council’s Significance and Engagement Policy.

3.         Approves a grant of $7,500 from its 2024/25 Discretionary Response Fund to South Hornby School towards Shade and Privacy Umbrellas.

9.   Elected Members’ Information Exchange Te Whakawhiti Whakaaro o Te Kāhui Amorangi

Part B

The following information was discussed:

·         An Information Session is to be arranged on the Trade Waste Bylaw Review.

·         Members expressed an interest in receiving training on cultural awareness and Te Reo.

·         A combined Boards Information Session is being arranged on street trees.

·         A public meeting was recently held in Riccarton where residents were able to voice their thoughts on a number of topics.

·         Investigation into youth workers at the Riccarton Bus Interchange is ongoing.

·         There is an increased police presence in Riccarton.

·         A pool party is to be held at Matatiki Hornby Centre on 13 September hosted by Youth and Cultural Development.

·         Residents’ Associations in Riccarton and Hornby are continuing to consider the Independent Hearings Panel’s recommendations on Plan Change 14.

·         It was noted that some the users of Council facilities appear to be showing symptoms of isolation.

 

Debbie Mora left the meeting at 5.18pm during item 9.
