7.   Committee Members’ Exchange of Information Te Whakawhiti Kōrero a ngā Mema Komiti

Part B

Committee members shared the following information:

Friends of the Akaroa Museum (FOAM) is applying for funding towards part of the cost of the ‘Rural Life in Black & White’ publication currently being worked on by the Museum. The Community Board will provide a letter of support to attach to the funding application.

There is a new exhibition opening at the Museum in April 2025 to do with books written in French.

The Drummonds Jetty and Pontoon opening is scheduled for 8am on Monday 24 February 2025.

A new group ‘Friends of Britomart’ are liaising with Council about future development of the site.

The Akaroa Wastewater Hearings had an amazing presentation from Robinsons Bay Community Heritage Trust about the heritage and archaeological significance of Robinsons Bay.

The 175th anniversary of Canterbury’s founding as a province, with the arrival of the first 4 ships of settlers at Lyttelton, will be observed on 16 December 2025.
