That the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee:

1.         Receive the information in the Akaroa Museum Director's Update Report.

That the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee:

1.              Receives the information in the Akaroa Museum Director's Update Report.

2.              Offers assistance in the way of photographs and information to staff responsible for creating the interpretation panels for the new Akaroa Wharf.

3.              Acknowledges the fine work that has gone into the exhibition programme, in particular for the Takapūneke exhibition.

Asif Hussain joined the meeting at 2.39pm during the consideration of item 6 - Friends of Akaroa Museum (FOAM) – President’s Update.

7.   Committee Members’ Exchange of Information Te Whakawhiti Kōrero a ngā Mema Komiti

Part B

Committee members shared the following information:

·         Public screenings were offered of a Gary Brittenden film of residents sharing stories about the Akaroa Wharf. The film is called Stories from the Akaroa Wharf.

·         The link to Council fees and charges in the Annual Plan has been added to the Akaroa Museum Research and Access Policy.

·         A letter to the Editor from the Chairperson of the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee was published in The Akaroa Mail on Friday 18 October acknowledging that we have a well-managed museum in the centre of Akaroa and encouraging people to visit the Takapūneke Exhibition before it closed.

·         The annual Antique Fair will be advertised in Akaroa Mail on 20 December 2024.

·         There will be an opening ceremony and dawn blessing for Drummonds Jetty – date yet to be confirmed.

·         A review of Friends of Akaroa Museum membership was undertaken and it currently has 75 members.

·         A successful Friends of Akaroa Museum Christmas function was held last week with a fun Christmas Quiz.
