2.3         Derelict property

Phillip and Enio Kynock spoke to the Board about a derelict property at 59 Te Rakau Drive,  Brookhaven.

That the Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board Information Session/Workshop:

1.         Refers the issues raised in the presentation to staff for investigation and report back to the Board.

2.         Thanks Phillip and Enio for their presentation.

Kia Ora Addington - Neighbourhood Building Project Update

Wilby Le Heux and Cissy spoke on behalf of Neighbours Day Aotearoa to provide an update to the Board on the Board plan priority Neighbourhood Building - Kia Ora Addington project.

2.2         Skate Park Sumner

Michael Slergh spoke on behalf of Sumner Green and Skate, to provide an update to the board on the Skate park in Sumner, regarding minor design changes to the concept plan.

4.   Richmond Hill Road - Proposed No Stopping Restrictions

 

Community Board Briefing, Seminar or Workshop Recommendation

The transport engineer presented regarding the proposed no stopping restrictions on Richmond Hill road.

-          A member raised the issue of parking enforcement after hours.

-          A member raised that one of the arguments for parking restrictions in areas like these, is  access for emergency services.

 

After questions from staff, the Chairperson thanked the officer for their presentation.

3.   Good-to-go ways to get to school

 

Community Board Briefing, Seminar or Workshop Recommendation

The community travel advisor presented to the board regarding the good-to-go ways to get to school programme.

 

After questions from the board the Chairperson thanked the officer for their presentation.

5.   Elected Members’ Information Exchange Te Whakawhiti Whakaaro o Te Kāhui Amorangi

Members exchanged the following matters of mutual interest:

-          A member met with residents and staff at Addington Park.

-          A member met with head of visitor experiences with the Department of Conservation.

-          A member raised the issue of petty crime happening in the neighbourhood- Lincoln road was raised in particular.

-          A member talked about the success of the Garden Pride Awards.

-          A member raised the issue of Sommerfield park toilets seeking clarity around how programmes work.  

-          A member talked to the Royal commission inquiry regarding abuse in state care – specifically recommendation 19, and suggested that the board write to the minister in charge.
