2.        Long Term Plan - 2024-2034 – Proposed Councillor Amendments............................. 5

Advice on the proposed Councillor amendments contain all or some of the following aspects under LGOIMA and, therefore, this information session/workshop item will not be open to the public under the following sections of the LGOIMA:

·      s7(2)g – The withholding of the information is necessary to maintain legal professional privilege.

·      s7(2)(h) - The withholding of the information is necessary to enable the local authority to carry out, without prejudice or disadvantage, commercial activities.

·      s7(2)(f)(i) – The withholding of the information is necessary to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank expression of opinions by or between or to members or officers or employees of any local authority in the course of their duty.

Proposed amendments put forward by Councillors will be formally raised by the Mover at the public meeting on Tuesday 25 June 2024, and will be made available to the public at the meeting, and subsequently attached to the Minutes of the meeting.

In the Council's view the reasons holding a publicly excluded session are not outweighed by public interest considerations in section 7(1) favouring their release.

The public can ask the Ombudsman to review this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
