3.   Proposed Temporary Road Closure for Christchurch Marathon 2023

Committee Consideration

·         Calum Nicholson (FOAMHAND Ltd, Course Manager for Christchurch Marathon), Jon Holmes (Event Manager, Christchurch Marathon), and Jared Talbot (Men at Work Traffic Management) presented to the Subcommittee.

·         The Subcommittee received confirmation from the presenters that access to the Christchurch Hospital and 24 Hour Surgery will remain open at all times.

·         The Subcommittee commented on the new route design and appreciate that the road closure impact will be a more compact area than previous years.

·         The lateness of the application was noted and, owing to the risk this could potentially have on processing the application, the Subcommittee strongly encourages the event organisers to adhere to application timeframes for future events.
