6.   Proposed Temporary Road Closures for the Armageddon Expo 2022

 

The Subcommittee received an overview of the proposed temporary road closures from the Team Leader, Temporary Traffic Management Team.

 

William Jones, Beyond Reality Media Premier Event Management ltd was in attendance and responded to questions from the Subcommittee. Chloe Marks, Council’s Events Partnerships and Development Advisor was in attendance.

 

The Subcommittee acknowledged and considered the information provided by the event organiser on the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures.

 

 

Subcommittee Resolved RCS/2022/00015

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the Report.

2.         Authorise the approval of the following temporary road closures for the Armageddon Expo 2022, proposed to be deployed from 6am Saturday, 10 December 2022 to 6pm Sunday, 11 December 2022:

a.         Cathedral Square, between Colombo Street and Worcester Street.

3.   Proposed Temporary Road Closures for the Little River Hill Climb Rally

 

The Subcommittee received an overview of the proposed temporary road closures from the Team Leader, Temporary Traffic Management Team.

The Subcommittee acknowledged and considered the information provided by the event organiser on the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures.

 

 

Subcommittee Resolved RCS/2022/00016

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the Report.

2.         Authorise the approval of the temporary road closure for the Little River Hill Climb, proposed to be deployed from 9.00am to 6.00pm on Sunday 16 October 2022:

a.         Kinloch Road, between 1300m North of Bossu Road and 100m South of Okuti Valley Road.

4.   Proposed Temporary Road Closure for the Gebbies Pass Hill Climb Rally

 

The Subcommittee received an overview of the proposed temporary road closures from the Team Leader, Temporary Traffic Management Team.

 

The officer recommendation was corrected to reflect the detail in the report, that the road closures are required for Saturday 15 October, not Sunday 16 October.

2.         Authorise the approval of the temporary road closure for the Gebbies Pass Hill Climb, proposed to be deployed from 9.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday 15 October 2022:

a.         Summit Road, between Gebbies Pass Road and Ahuriri Reserve (7.9km South of Worsleys Road).

The Subcommittee received an overview of the proposed temporary road closures from the Team Leader, Temporary Traffic Management Team.

The Subcommittee acknowledged and considered the information provided by the event organiser on the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures.

2.         Authorise the approval of the temporary road closures for the New Brighton Seaside Christmas Parade, proposed to be deployed from 9.00am to 12.00pm on Saturday 10 December 2022:

a.         Beresford Street, between Oram Avenue and Marine Parade

b.         Brighton Mall, between Union Street and Beresford Street

c.         Hawke Street, between Marine Parade and Shaw Avenue

d.         Howe Street, at the intersection with Hawke Street

e.         Marine Parade, between Lonsdale Street and Hood Street

f.          Seaview Road, between Hardy Street and Union Street

g.         Shaw Avenue, between Hawke Street and Seaview Road

h.         Union Street, between Beresford Street and Brighton Mall.
