1.   Brief Summary

1.1       The purpose of this report is to provide the Road Closure Subcommittee with information to enable the Subcommittee to make a decision regarding the application for proposed road closure for The Single Fin Mingle Event 2022.

1.2       This report has been written because The Single Fin Mingle propose to close the following road from 9am to 11.30pm on Saturday 14 May 2022:

·   Nayland Street, between Richmond Hill Road and Wakefield Avenue.

1.3       The event organisers have indicated that they have undertaken direct notifications to impacted parties, which is required as part of the road closure application process. The event organisers will provide a record of any feedback received, from impacted parties, to the Subcommittee in advance of the scheduled meeting or alternatively the organisers may present the information in person to the Subcommittee.

1.4       Public notifications were carried out through the placement of a public notice in The Press and on the Council’s website, with the period of time allowing for objections to be received, meeting the minimum time period of one week. The application was publicly advertised on Monday 28 March 2022 with objections closing on Tuesday 5 April 2022.

1.5       No objections have been received as a result of the public notification process.

1.6       Staff support the proposed closure and believe the closure will not unreasonably impact traffic.

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the report.

2.         Authorise the approval of temporary road closures for The Single Fin Mingle, proposed to be deployed between 9am and 11.30pm on Saturday 14 May 2022:

a.         Nayland Street, between Richmond Hill Road and Wakefield Avenue.
