4.   Public Forum

4.1      Imagination Station

Sam Butcher, Managing Director, Imagination Station, provided the Board with an update on their activities and the recent move to Turanga.

 

After questions from members, the Chairperson thanked Sam for addressing the Board.

4.2      Denton Park

Ross Houliston and Mark Peters on behalf of the Greater Hornby Residents’ Association and Save Denton Park Group, updated the Board on progress regarding the memorial plaque for the late Stanley Denton, and also of their proposals for a 1974 Commonwealth Games logo  and related mural being painted on the Denton Oval building.

The Chairperson thanked Messrs Houliston and Peters for the update.

7.   Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board Area Report - May 2019

 

Staff Recommendations 

That the Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board decide to:

1.         Receive the Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board Area Report for May 2019.

2.         Receive and note the information contained in the staff memorandum regarding the removal of trees associated with the Cox’s Quaifes Stormwater Facility Project.

Part C

The Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board resolved to:

1.         Receive the Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board Area Report for May 2019.

2.         Receive and note the information contained in the staff memorandum regarding the removal of trees associated with the Cox’s Quaifes Stormwater Facility Project.

3.         Approve an allocation of $3,000 from its 2018-19 Discretionary Response Fund to its 2018-19 Youth Development Fund.

·         Former Sockburn School site – request made that the Ministry of Education be contacted regarding maintenance of the property

·         Hornby High School – upcoming leaders

·         Customer Service Request – appreciation for speedy response

·         Halswell Quarry - tree planting – well attended event, next day is Saturday 8 June 2019

·         Selwyn District Plan Review – requested update from staff on Christchurch City Council submission

·         Productivity Commission

·         Keep Christchurch Beautiful - World Environment Day – Wednesday 5 June 2019

·         Heavy vehicle activity on Waterloo Road – complaints made by local residents

·         Traffic management review of greater Hornby area

·         Accessible playground for the Halswell area – arising from the Halswell Disability Survey

·         Templeton Residents’ Association – Annual General Meeting

 

11. Resolution to Include Supplementary Reports

 

The Board agreed that the supplementary report (Notice of Motion – Deans Avenue) lie on the table until its next meeting on 11 June 2019.

9.   Resolution to Exclude the Public

That at 5.16pm the resolution to exclude the public set out on pages 45 to 46 of the agenda, be adopted.
