Subcommittee Comment

1.              The Subcommittee considered the report and received an overview of the proposed road closures from Simon Hodges, Team Leader Temporary Traffic Management, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre.

2.              The Subcommittee received information provided by the event organiser on the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures.

3.              John Newsome the Event Director and Brooke Jones, Christchurch City Council Events Partnerships & Development were in attendance and responded to questions from the Subcommittee.

2.         Approve the road closure of Summit Road, from 15 metres North of Taylors Mistake Track to Major Hornbrook Track, from 9am to 11am Sunday 31 March 2019.

5.   Proposed Road Closures ANZAC Parades 2019

 

Subcommittee Comment

1.              The Subcommittee considered the report and received an overview of the proposed road closures from Simon Hodges, Team Leader Temporary Traffic Management Christchurch Transport Operations Centre. 

2.              The Subcommittee was advised that residents’ associations within the areas of the proposed road closures had all been communicated with regarding the parades and proposed road closures.

3.              Milinda Peris, Christchurch City Council Civic & International Relations Coordinator and Sarah Feary, Events Partnerships & Development were in attendance and responded to questions from the Subcommittee on the Christchurch Central Anzac Day parade.

4.              The Subcommittee noted that the agenda included a map showing the road closures associated with the Halswell ANZAC day parade and that approvals of those road closures are the responsibility of the New Zealand Transport Agency.

a.         Montreal Street, from Gloucester Street to Kilmore Street, from 5.30am to 7am on 25 April 2019.

b.         Cranmer Square, from Armagh Street to Kilmore Street, from 5.30am to 7am on 25 April 2019.

c.         Chester Street, from Park Terrace to Cranmer Square, from 5.30am to 7am on 25 April 2019.

9.         Approve the road closure for Anzac Parade Sumner as below:

a.         Wakefield Avenue, from Nayland Street to Arnold Street from 10.15am 12.30pm on 25 April 2019. subject to CTOC confirming there is no residual risk from rockfall.

10.       Approve the road closure for Anzac Parade Templeton as below:

a.         Banks Street from Bicknor Street to Kirk Road from 10am to 12noon on 25 April 2019.

2.   Proposed Road Closures for Super Rugby Crusaders Home Games 2019

 

Subcommittee Comment

1.              The Subcommittee considered the report and received an overview of the proposed road closures from Simon Hodges, Team Leader Temporary Traffic Management, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre.

2.              Pete Maddock and Ben Eastgate from Vbase were in attendance and advised the Subcommittee of the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures. 

3.              The Subcommittee noted that the proposed road closures include provision for quarter, semi and final super rugby games that may be held at Christchurch Stadium.

2.              The Subcommittee received information provided by the event organiser on the communication and engagement undertaken on the proposed road closures.  Chloe Marks from Events Partnerships & Development was in attendance and responded to questions from the Subcommittee.

3.         Approve the road closure of Western Valley Road, from Christchurch to Akaroa Road (SH75) to 350 metres North of Christchurch to Akaroa Road (SH75), from 9:30am to 2pm Saturday 23 March 2019.

4.   Proposed Road Closures for University of Canterbury Street Parade 2019

 

Subcommittee Comment

1.              The Subcommittee considered the report and received an overview of the proposed road closures from Simon Hodges, Team Leader Temporary Traffic Management, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre.

2.              Sina Mulitalo Events Partnerships & Development was in attendance.  It was established that no communication had been undertaken on the proposed road closure for the event.  The Subcommittee delegated to the Council Secretary to consider the road closure application under Schedule 10, paragraph 11D of the Local Government Act 1974 following communication to and any feedback from affected parties.
