David Drayton – Huntsbury Community Centre

David Drayton spoke to the Board on behalf of Huntsbury Community Centre.  Mr Drayton outlined the Community Centre’s building plans, and proposed funding source.

That the Waihoro/Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board:

1.              Notes the information supplied during the Briefings.

·      Presentation on Potholes and Remediation
The Board was advised of remediation and management of potholes throughout the city.

·      Christchurch Civil Defence and Emergency Management
The Board was informed of plans for resilience and civil defence in communities.

 

8.   Spreydon-Cashmere 2018/19 Discretionary Response Fund Report - Community Board Projects

 

Community Board Resolved SCCB/2018/00110 (Original staff recommendations accepted without change)

That the Waihoro/Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board:

1.         Approves an allocation of $6,000 from its 2018/19 Discretionary Response Fund to the Spreydon-Cashmere 2018/19 Community Awards project.

2.         Approves an allocation of $3,500 from its 2018/19 Discretionary Response Fund to the Spreydon-Cashmere 2018/19 Edible Garden Awards project.

3.         Approves an allocation of $3,000 from its 2018/19 Discretionary Response Fund to the Communicating with the Community project.

9.   Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board Youth Achievement and Development Fund 2018-19 - Application for St Nicholas Scout Group

 

Community Board Resolved SCCB/2018/00111 (Original staff recommendation accepted without change)

Part C

That the Waihoro/Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board resolve to:

1.              Approve a grant of $600 from its 2018/19 Youth Achievement and Development Fund to
St Nicholas Scout Group towards attendance of Isla Webster and Chloe Hurst at the Australian Scout Jamboree 2019 in Adelaide from January 4 to January 14 2019.

10. Spreydon Cashmere 2018/19 Youth Achievement and Development Scheme - Hillmorton High School

 

Community Board Resolved SCCB/2018/00112 (Original staff recommendation accepted without change)

That the Waihoro/Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board resolve to:

1.              Approve a grant of $750 from its 2018/19 Youth Achievement and Development Scheme to Talisau Paulo, Aleni Paulo and Ihaia Cox-Winiata of the Hillmorton High School Senior Boys Basketball Team towards the Secondary Schools National Basketball Championships in Palmerston North.

11. Elected Members’ Information Exchange

Part B

Board Members shared the following information:

·      St Martins Valley – repairs to Hillsborough Terrace drains.  Areas being flooded regarding drainage, where the area narrows off.

·      Letter to Hoon Hay Residents affected by flooding is still to be done

·      The Cashmere Residents Association  are holding their AGM this month. The Board will be represented.

·      Requests for service – some are not being responded to.  The implementation of “My Council” will follow up on requests in future. 

·      Ōpāwaho-Heathcote River Network -Photos for “A Day in the Life of the River” received about 38 entries.  The time limit will be lengthened in future.  There will be an exhibition on 17 October 2018.

·      Staff were requested to follow up on a seminar with Parks staff.
