1.   Purpose and Origin of Report

Purpose of Report

1.1       The purpose of this report is for the Road Closure Subcommittee to consider an application for a proposed road closure for the following event: Fox and Ferret Event.

1.2       As part of this event, the event organiser proposes to close Rotherham Street between Riccarton Road and Dilworth Street, from 3am Saturday 10 June to 9am Sunday 11 June 2017.

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Approve the road closure for Rotherham Street between Riccarton Road and Dilworth Street from 3am Saturday 10 June to 9am Sunday 11 June 2017

 

3.   Key Points

3.1       The proposed temporary road closure event was advertised in the Press on Thursday 16 March 2017. Objections were due to the Council Secretary by 4pm Friday 24 March. No objections were received.

3.2       Consultation has been undertaken with the directly impacted stakeholders prior to the application being heard at the Road Closure Subcommittee Hearing – most notably the owner of the Westfield shopping centre.

3.3       A copy of the draft traffic management plan (TMP) can be made available upon request if required.

1.   Purpose and Origin of Report

Purpose of Report

1.1       The purpose of this report is for the Road Closure Subcommittee to consider an application for a proposed road closure for the following event: Lions Tour Fan Zone.

1.2       The event organiser proposes four separate events to close Poplar Lane between Lichfield Street and Tuam Street, as well as Ash Street from Poplar Lane to 40 metres west of Madras Street.

1.3       Specific times of these closures to each event:

·        8am Friday 9 June to 1pm Sunday 11 June 2017

·        7am Saturday 24 June to 2am Sunday 25 June 2017

·        7am Saturday 1 July to 2am Sunday 2 July 2017

·        7am Saturday 8 July to 2am Sunday 9 July 2017

 

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Approve the road closures for Poplar Lane between Lichfield Street and Tuam Street, and Ash Street from Poplar Lane to 40 metres west of Madras Street for the dates and times of:

·           8am Friday 9 June to 1pm Sunday 11 June 2017

·           7am Saturday 24 June to 2am Sunday 25 June 2017

·           7am Saturday 1 July to 2am Sunday 2 July 2017

·        7am Saturday 8 July to 2am Sunday 9 July 2017

At the time of writing no objections have been received, information on any objections received will be provided at the Road Closure Subcommittee meeting.
