2.   Road Closure Subcommittee Hearing 12 September 2016 - South West Baptist Church Report

 

Subcommittee Comment

The Subcommittee considered the report and received a presentation from Simon Hodges, Temporary Traffic Management Coordinator, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre on the application for temporary road closure.  Simon responded to questions from the Subcommittee members.

The Subcommittee acknowledged that two objections to the closure had been received following public notification and the details of one complaint is included in the report and the other complainant had been unable to be contacted to ascertain the reasons for the complaint.

Alan Jamison, a representative of the South West Baptist Church was present and responded to questions from Subcommittee members.

Part C

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the South West Baptist Church 150th Celebrations report.

2.         Approves the proposed road closures as detailed below:

             Lyttelton Street, from Neville Street to Cobham Street, from 8am to 8pm on 15 October 2016 with the conditions listed below:

a.         Adjustment made to submitted Traffic Management Plan (TMP) to make the TMP consistent with proposed Temporary Road Closures.

b.         That the business owner on this section of Lyttelton Street be visited and the road closure discussed with her as soon as practical.

c.         That the required notification to residents along the closure and the detour routes be undertaken.

3.   Road Closure Subcommittee Hearing Various Sporting and Community Events

 

Subcommittee Comment

The Subcommittee considered the report and received a presentation from Simon Hodges, Temporary Traffic Management Coordinator, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre on the following four applications for temporary road closures: 

1.              Ratec Summit Road Hillclimb

2.              Ratec Little River Hillclimb

3.              New Brighton Fireworks

4.              Summer Starter

Simon responded to questions from the Subcommittee members.

Sina Muliato and Sophie Dewar from the Events Partnerships and Development Team of Christchurch City Council were present and responded to questions from Subcommittee members.

The Subcommittee considered and resolved to approve three applications:  Ratec Little River Hillclimb, New Brighton Fireworks and Summer Starter.

The Subcommittee considered the application for the Ratec Summit Road Hillclimb and decided to request the Christchurch City Council Events Partnerships and Development Team members contact the Christchurch City Council Operations Manager Regional Parks, the Summit Road Protection Authority and the Summit Road Society to ensure they are aware of the application and advise the Subcommittee of any comment. 

The Subcommittee adjourned the meeting, to reconvene when the requested action has been completed and information provided.

Summit Road From Evans Pass Road to Mt Pleasant Road, Proposed Period of Closure, from 9am to 5pm Saturday 15 October 2016

·         Marine Parade From Beresford Street to Bridge Street, Bridge Street From Marine Parade to Dyers Road, Proposed Period of Closure from 8:30am to 11am 27 November 2016.

·         Metro Place Entire Length, Proposed Period of Closure from 9am to 11am 27 November 2016

·         Linwood Avenue From Humphreys Drive to Dyers Road, Humphreys Drive From Linwood Avenue to Ferry Road, Tidal View Entire Length, Proposed Period of Closure from 9am to 1pm 27 November 2016

·         Beachville Road From Main Road to Celia Street, Proposed Period of Closure from 5pm 26 November 2016 to 5pm 27 November 2016
