Bus Shelters Hearing Panel

The agenda was dealt with in the following order.

1.   Apologies

 There were no apologies.

2.   Election of Chairperson

 

Committee Resolved BUS/2016/00003

It was resolved on the motion of Councillor Turner, seconded by Councillor Cotter that Councillor David East be appointed Chairperson of the Bus Shelter Hearings Panel .

3.   Proposed Bus Passenger Shelter Installation - 19 Kirk Road

 

Staff Recommendation

That the Bus Shelters Hearing Panel resolve to:

1.         Receive the information in the staff report.

2.         Approve the installation of a bus shelter at the following location:

a.         19 Kirk Road

 

4.   Consideration of Objections

The Hearings Panel considered the staff report and written objection from Ms Raena Lopas regarding the proposed bus passenger shelter installation at 19 Kirk Road.

5.   Deliberations

Committee Resolved BUS/2016/00004

Decision

That the Bus Shelter Hearings Panel resolve to:

1.              Receive the information in the staff report.

2.              Dismiss the objection in accordance to Section 339(5) of the Act, on the grounds that the objection by Ms Raena Lopas was verbally withdrawn on 8 September 2016. The Hearings Panel noted that the objection received by Ms Raena Lopas referred to and opposed the bus stop at 19 Kirk Road. The Bus Shelter Hearings Panel does not have delegated authority to make a decision on this issue.

3.              Refers the decision on the installation of a bus shelter at 19 Kirk Road to the Riccarton/Wigram Community Board.
