That the minutes of the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee meeting held on Monday, 27 June 2016 be confirmed.

5.    Akaroa Museum Director's Update


Committee Comment

In the absence of the Museum Director, the Collections Manager of the Akaroa Museum commented on the Museum Director’s Update. 

Members asked if they could have a copy of the previous year’s visitor statistics pie-chart to compare visitor numbers with those for the past financial year.

6.    Friends of Akaroa Museum (FOAM) - President's Update


Committee Comment

 Mr Miller acknowledged those that spoke at the recent 50th anniversary of The Friends.

7.    Role and Function of the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee


Committee Comment

The Committee endorsed the Role and Function of the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee paper (attached) as presented. 

The Committee agreed that there was a need to address representation on the Committee from the Wairewa and Koukourarata Rünanga and that this could be achieved by asking the Rünanga to each appoint a liaison person to the Committee, to attend meetings where any item for discussion was of particular relevance to that Rünanga. The Committee recommended that the Community Board should amend the Terms of Reference accordingly, and asked that staff inform the Rünanga of the recommendation.

That the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee:

1.        Receive the information in the Role and Function of the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee paper.

2.        Recommend to the Akaroa/Wairewa Community Board that it adopt the paper, including the amended Terms of Reference for the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee.

3.        Recommend to the incoming Banks Peninsula Community Board that the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee be appointed as a committee of the Board based on the adopted paper and amended Terms of Reference.

   The Committee was informed that new interviewers will be trained shortly to undertake the oral history project.


8.2      Acknowledgement

   The Chairman thanked the committee members and staff for their input into the Akaroa Museum Advisory Committee over the past term.
