That the minutes of the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board meeting held on Monday, 18 June 2018, be confirmed.

7.   Correspondence

 

 

7.1       Correspondence was tabled from David Denton of the Kids Fishing Charitable Trust asking for a two-staged approach to the weed removal at the Groynes. 

 

             The Board noted that the correspondence had been referred to appropriate Council staff.  It was further noted that the correspondence had also been sent to the Mayor and that a response had been provided to Mr Denton from  the Office of the Chief Executive.

Part B

The Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board decided to:

1.         Receive the information in the correspondence report dated 02 July 2018, including the tabled letter from Mr David Denton.

8.   Roto Kohatu Reserve - Proposed Site for Toilets

 

Board Comment

In its deliberations, the Board expressed concern at the estimated cost of the proposed public toilet blocks. 

While supportive of the proposed toilets at Roto Kohatu Reserve, the Board sought an assurance from staff that a further report seeking approval for the construction, including a breakdown of costings, would be presented to the Board at a later date.

 

Staff Recommendations 

That the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board:

1.         Approve the locations for two permanent toilet blocks – 1) near the southern shore of Lake Tahi, and 2) near the northern shore of Lake Rua.

 

Community Board Resolved FWHB/2018/00052

Part C

The Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board resolved to:

1.              Approve the locations for two permanent public toilet blocks at Roto Kohatu Reserve as shown in the attachment to the agenda report, noting that this approval is subject to final budget and financial information being presented to a later Board meeting:

a)   near the southern shore of Lake Tahi; and

b)   near the northern shore of Lake Rua.

9.   Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood 2018-19 Youth Development Fund - Application - Tamsyn Louise Campbell

 

Board Consideration

 

At the meeting staff advised members that the 2018-19 funding budget allocations  had yet to be finalised. 

 

The Board agreed to accept the staff recommendation subject to details of the 2018-19 funding budgets being  advised.

 

 

Staff Recommendation

That the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board:

1.    Approve the making of a grant of $200 from its 2018-19 Discretionary Response Fund to Tamsyn Louise Campbell towards competing at the Australian National Under 15 and Cadet Fencing Competition in Sydney, from 11 to 15 July 2018.

The Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board resolved to:
