2.        Proposed Road closures for New Brighton Santa Parade 2017

1.   Purpose of Report

1.1       This report is to provide information to, and seek authorisation from, the Road Closure Subcommittee to approve the proposed road closures associated with the New Brighton Santa Parade 2017.

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the report.

2.         Authorise the approval of the proposed road closures of:

·    Marine Parade From Hood Street to Lonsdale Street.

·    Keppel Street From number 64 to Hawke Street.

·    Howe Street From number 36 to Hawke Street.

·    Shaw Avenue From number 171 to Seaview Road.

·    Hawke Street From Shaw Avenue to Marine Parade.

·    Seaview Road From Hardy Street to Union Street.

·    Union Street From Seaview Road to Beresford Street.

·    The entire Length of Brighton Mall.

·    Beresford Street From Oram Avenue to Marine Parade.

From 9am to 1pm on Saturday, 9 December 2017.

 

 

3.   Key Points

3.1       Public consultation was carried out through standard channels with the period of time allowing for objections to be received meeting the minimum time period of one week.  The application was publicly notified on 20 October, with objections closing on 30 October 2017, there were no objections received.

3.2       The event organisers have contacted the local businesses and residents, to provide details of the proposed closures and to provide an opportunity to engage with them should residents have any issues. At the time of writing this report no contact had been made with the event organisers by any residents with concerns.

3.3       This event has operated in this location numerous times before with no known issues.

3.4       CTOC supports the proposed closures and believes the proposed closures will not unreasonably impact traffic.

1.   Purpose of Report

1.1   This report is to provide information to, and seek authorisation from, the Road Closure Subcommittee to approve the proposed road closures associated with the Vodafone Street Party 2017.

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in the report.

2.         Authorise the approval of the proposed road closure of Poplar Street. From 6am on Friday 1 December 2017 to 8am on Sunday 3 December 2017.

3.         Authorise the approval of the proposed road closure of Ash Street, from Poplar Street to Nurseryman Lane. From 6am on Friday, 1 December 2017 to 8am on Sunday 3 December 2017.

 

3.   Key Points
