2.        Proposed Road Closure for Summit Road Hill Climb

1.   Purpose of Report

1.1       This report is to provide information to the Road Closures Sub Committee on the proposed road closures associated with the Summit Road Hill Climb 2017.

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in this report.

2.         Approves the proposed road closure of Summit Road from Evans Pass Road to Mount Pleasant Road, from 9am to 6pm on 27 August 2017.

 

 

3.   Key Points

3.1       Public consultation was carried out through standard channels with the period of time allowing for objections to be received meeting the minimum time period of 1 week.

3.2       No Objections were received from the Consultation

3.3       The event organisers have contacted the only residential property within the proposed closure to discuss the event, they were yet to receive feedback at the time of writing this report.

3.4       The Event organisers have contacted the local Ngai Tahu Rūnanga to discuss the proposed event, they were yet to receive feedback at the time of writing this report.

3.5       This event has occurred in this location previously with no known issues occurring.

3.6       CTOC supports the proposed closures and believes the proposed closures will not unreasonably impact traffic.

1.   Purpose of Report

1.1       This report is to provide information to the Road Closures Sub Committee on the proposed road closures associated with the Mitre 10 Cup Rugby Competition 2017.  

 

2.   Staff Recommendations

That the Road Closure Subcommittee:

1.         Receive the information in this report.

2.         Approves the proposed road closure of Jack Hinton Drive from Twigger Street for the Mitre 10 Cup Rugby Competition 2017:

·        From 2:35pm to 7pm on 27 August 2017

·        From 3:45pm to 8:15pm on 8 September 2017

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 30 September 2017

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 6 October 2017 

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 20 October 2017

·        From 12:35pm to 5pm on 21 October 2017

·        From 3:05pm to 7:30pm on 21 October 2017

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 21 October 2017

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 27 October 2017

·        From 5:35pm to 10pm on 28 October 2017

 

 

 

3.   Key Points

3.1       Public consultation was carried out through standard channels with the period of time allowing for objections to be received meeting the minimum time period of 1 week.

3.2       No Objections were received from the Consultation

3.3       There is only one direct vehicle access way onto the section of road proposed to be closed, Park Lane Retirement Village. This property has an alternative access from Whiteleigh Avenue that will be unimpeded by the proposed closure.

3.4       The Event organisers have contacted the local residents, via letter drop, on 4 August to provide details of the proposed closures and to provide an opportunity to engage with them should residents have any issues. At the time of writing this report no contact had been made with the event organisers by any residents.


 

 

3.5       This event has occurred in this location previously with no known issues occurring.

3.6       CTOC supports the proposed closures and believes the proposed closures will not unreasonably impact traffic.
