It was resolved on the motion of Deputy Mayor Turner, seconded by Councillor Cotter that apologies for absence from Councillors Scandrett and Swiggs, and an apology for lateness from Councillor Galloway be accepted.

5.   Northern Line Major Cycleway Route

 

Committee Comment

1.              The Committee resolved to Exclude the Public to consider Items 7 and 8 of the public excluded agenda before making its decision on the Northern Line Major Cycleway Route (Item 5 of the agenda) and Quarrymans Trail Major Cycleway Route (Item 4 of the agenda).

Part C

That Dave Aldridge, Graeme Carlyon and Kate Berkett of Peloton and Brendan Bisley, remain after the public have been excluded for Item 7 and Item 8 of the public excluded agenda as they have knowledge that is relevant to that item and will assist the Council.

AND

That at 2.34pm the resolution to exclude the public set out on pages 85 to 86 of the agenda be adopted.

5.      Northern Line Major Cycleway Route

 

Committee Comment

1.       The Committee considered the report on the Northern Line Major Cycleway Route. The Staff              recommendation was accepted with no change.

 

Committee Resolved MCRC/2016/00003

Part C

That the Major Cycleway Routes Committee:

1.         Approve the Northern Line scheme for detailed design and construction as shown in Attachment B Northern Line Drawings 1-14 inclusive, subject to KiwiRail final approval of the design at the end of the detailed design phase.

2.         Approve removal of vegetation and identified trees to allow implementation of the proposed scheme.

3.         Recommend the detailed traffic resolutions required for the implementation of the route are brought back to the relevant Committee for approval at the end of the detailed design phase.

4.         Approve the negotiation of access agreements with KiwiRail for the level crossings altered by the proposed scheme

4.   Quarrymans Trail Major Cycleway Route

 

Committee Comment

1.              The Committee considered the report on the Quarrymans Trail Major Cycleway Route and accepted the staff recommendations with no change.

Part C

That the Major Cycleway Routes Committee:

1.         Approve the Quarrymans Trail scheme for detailed design and construction as shown in Attachments B and C Quarryman’s Trail Drawings 1-27 inclusive.

2.         Approve the removal of the identified trees to allow implementation of the proposed scheme.

3.         Recommend that the detailed traffic resolutions required for the implementation of the route are brought back to the relevant Committee for approval at the end of the detailed design phase.
